Microsoft's Windows 8 dominated countless headlines in the weeks leading up to its launch late last month, but October saw the debut of another major operating system as well.

#Canonical's Ubuntu 12.10 #Quantal #Quetzal arrived a week ahead of its competitor, in fact, accompanied by a challenge: "Avoid the pain of Windows 8." That slogan appeared on the Ubuntu home page for the first few hours after the OS's official launch, and attracted...

Love is the only thing that covers up all the pain

"Everyone says that love hurts, but that's not true. Loneliness hurts. Rejection hurts. Everyone confuse these things with love, but in reality, love is the only thing in this world that covers up all the pain and makes us feel wonderful again."

Dolphins Rescue a Surfer

On one hot August day, Todd Endris, 24 year old owner of Monterey Aquarium services decided to go surfing with some friends. While surfing, a 15 foot shark appeared. The shark tried to bite him but could not get its jaws around both the surfer and the surf board, it came around for a second try where it got Todd clamped between his surf board and its jaws, because his stomach was against the surf board Todd's internal organs were not harmed, however he lost a lot of skin from...

Comparing the 20th century to now there are many hopeful signs. Look at the way people view war. These days many people challenge the need for it, they question why we have to resort to it. In the early twentieth century there was no talk about protecting the environment, yet now everyone is aware of it. Our perceptions are coming closer to reality; humanity is becoming more mature and I am optimistic about the future.

I left Macau yesterday... Here's the Sai Van Bridge, Macau Tower, some condos on the banks of the Nam Van Lake... Nice place to live. Lots of people gather near the lake and spread out blankets to eat dinner at night. I liked Macau more than I expected. I'll definitely return some day. If I ever want a little bit of Vegas in Asia, then I know where to go. :-) Some of the hotels - the Galaxy in particular - are so ridiculously over the top, it's quite good fun.

I'm now in Penang, Malaysia sitting ...
